EPIRB Annual Testing & Shore-Based Maintenance in Thailand

Satellite EPIRBs must be tested every year (SOLAS IV/15.9) and receive shore-based maintenance at intervals not exceeding five years. SEATECH Electric tests EPIRBs as part of the GMDSS radio survey and is approved by ClassNK for shore-based maintenance of Ocean Signal satellite EPIRBs, for which we are also the authorised sales and service agent in Thailand.

Questions about this service

What is the difference between the annual test and shore-based maintenance?

The annual test checks on board that the EPIRB transmits correctly and is coded and registered properly. Shore-based maintenance is a deeper workshop service, including battery replacement, required at intervals not exceeding five years.

Which EPIRB makes can you maintain?

Our ClassNK approval for shore-based maintenance covers Ocean Signal satellite EPIRBs. For other makes, send us the make and model and we will confirm what we can do or supply a replacement beacon.

Can you supply a new EPIRB?

Yes. We are the authorised sales and service agent for ACR Electronics and Ocean Signal in Thailand and supply EPIRBs, AIS-EPIRBs, SARTs and PLBs with genuine batteries and release units.

How do I book?

Email service@seatech-electric.com with the vessel name, port, ETA, and the EPIRB make, model and battery expiry date.
